What each tool does
Clean up
- Remove tashkeel — strips short vowels and other marks: مُحَمَّدٌ → محمد.
- Remove tatweel — removes kashida stretching: مـــرحـبا → مرحبا.
- Tidy spaces — joins repeated spaces, trims lines, removes extra blank lines and spaces before punctuation.
Normalize
Arabic often has several acceptable spellings. Normalizing makes them identical so search, spreadsheets and duplicate checks treat them as the same word.
Punctuation and numbers
Convert Latin , ; ? typed after Arabic words into the Arabic forms ، ؛ ؟ — English sentences and numbers like 1,000 are left untouched — and switch digits between 123 and ١٢٣. For more number options, use the Arabic Numbers converter.

Frequently asked questions
How do I remove tashkeel (diacritics) from Arabic text?
Paste your text and press “Remove tashkeel”. Fatha, damma, kasra, tanween, shadda, sukun and Quranic annotation marks are removed while the letters stay exactly as they were.
What does normalizing alef, ya and ta marbuta do?
It replaces letter variants with one standard form — أ إ آ become ا, ى becomes ي, ة becomes ه. This is useful before searching, sorting or comparing text, but it changes spelling, so do not use it on text meant for reading.
Why does my mixed Arabic and English text look jumbled?
Each paragraph has one base direction. Choose Auto so each line follows the language it starts with, or RTL for mostly-Arabic text. The underlying text does not change — only how it is displayed.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Every tool button can be undone with ↶ Undo, step by step.
Is my text saved or uploaded?
No. Editing happens in your browser. Download .txt creates the file on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
